Robert Castañeda Jr., Chief Executive Officer, Clear Choice ER
Robert Castañeda Jr., Chief Executive Officer for Clear Choice ER, is a native Laredoan who has proudly served his Laredo community over the last 21 years in the healthcare field. In this time, Robert has amassed a wealth of experience working in vast positions at all levels in the acute hospital setting, including Chief Quality Officer, Assistant Chief Nursing Officer, Director of Surgical Services, and Registered Nurse. Robert also spent several years working as an independent consultant for various physicians in the Laredo medical community, dispensing advice on business development, staffing management, electronic billing, medical records, financial support, and more.
Robert comes from an extended family of healthcare providers, including pharmacists, occupational therapists and registered nurses. As a registered nurse himself, Robert understands and is empathetic to the specific needs of patients—especially those who find themselves in unexpected critical situations.
“I am blessed to be in a position where I can now make a difference in the quality of emergent healthcare being provided in the community I grew up in,” said Castaneda. “It’s extra rewarding to be able to align this vision and goal with those involved in the launching of Clear Choice ER, including the Governing Board, Investors, Physicians and Staff.”
Robert and his wife, Monica, are the proud parents of 3 sons, Robert III, Aneas and Carlos, and their daughter, Carolina.
ERNESTO HERNANDEZ JR., MSN,RN, DIRECTOR OF NURSING, CLEAR CHOICE ER
Ernesto Hernandez Jr., MSN,RN serves as Director of Nursing for Clear Choice ER. He comes to CCER with over 23 years of experience working in the healthcare field, eighteen (18) of those serving in a managerial/director capacity. Most recently, Ernesto served 6 years as Director of Case Management at a local 326-bed acute medical facility in Laredo. In this capacity, Ernesto oversaw quality levels of care for patients through the appropriate utilization of hospital resources.
Along with his experience in case management, Ernesto has also served as Chief Nursing Officer, House Supervisor, Director of Surgical Services, and ER nurse in several local and surrounding acute-care centers.
Ernesto comes to CCER with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from Texas A&M International University in Laredo, TX, and a Master of Science Degree in Nursing Administration from Texas A&M University in Corpus Christi, TX. His pride and joy are his wife, Pamela, and three beautiful children, Haley, Treigh and Marcelo.
In his spare time, Ernesto enjoys working with his hands with woodworking projects, playing golf and traveling with his family.
